Frequently asked questions
- How do I import my TV Time history?
- Ask TV Time for a copy of your account data through their privacy portal. They email you a .zip archive. Open Medjat, go to the Profile tab, then Data, then Import data from TV Time, and pick that .zip file. Medjat matches every series against The Movie Database and restores your watched episodes and rewatches. Anything it cannot match automatically lands on a review screen where you can search for the right series yourself, or skip it.
- My import stopped halfway. Do I have to start over?
- No. Medjat saves a checkpoint as it goes, so a closed app, a lost connection or a flat battery only pauses the import. Reopen the app and tap Resume, and it picks up where it stopped.
- I do not have an account. How do my shows follow me to a new iPhone?
- Medjat stores a key in your iCloud Keychain. As long as the new iPhone signs in with the same Apple Account and has iCloud Keychain enabled, your library comes back on its own after installing the app. Nothing to type.
- What is the recovery code for?
- It is the manual way in, for a device that does not share your iCloud Keychain. Profile, then Backup and Recovery, shows the code for this device. On the other device, enter it under Restore from a code, and your library is downloaded there. Keep the code somewhere safe: anyone holding it can read your library.
- How do I delete my data?
- Profile, then Data, then Erase All Data wipes your library from the device and from our servers, permanently. There is no undo. Deleting the app alone does not erase the server-side copy, since it is what lets your library come back on a new device, so use Erase All Data first if that is what you want.
- Why is a show missing, or why are its episodes wrong?
- All series, seasons, episodes and air dates come from The Movie Database. If something is missing or wrong, it is almost always wrong on TMDB too. Fixing it there (anyone can contribute) fixes it in Medjat within a day or so.
- I get no notifications for new episodes.
- Check that notifications are allowed for Medjat in the iOS Settings app, then open Medjat, go to Profile, then Notifications, and make sure the master switch and the alerts you want are on. Air dates also depend on TMDB having scheduled the episode.
- Which iPhones does Medjat support?
- Any iPhone running iOS 26 or later. The app is not available on iPad or Mac for now.
- Do you have my email address or my name?
- No. Medjat has no sign-up at all. Unless you email us yourself, we hold nothing that identifies you.
